Public Service Agency Program 53039
Public Service Agency Program The City of Hinesville is funded annually by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development as an Entitlement Community. In August 2024, HUD approved the city's 5-Year Consolidated Plan for the years 2024-2028. This plan details the community's needs and outlines how awarded funds will be spent to address those needs. The City anticipates receiving an allocation to carry out eligible Public Service activities for the 2026 program year. All activities must comply with one or more of HUD's National Objectives: 1.) To benefit low- and moderate-income persons. 2.) To eliminate slum or blight. 3.) To meet urgent needs in declared emergencies. The City will distribute a portion of the 2026 HUD Entitlement funds as well as City General Funds to assist public service agencies. In addition to the existing Public Service Agency Program, the City will also have a Micro-Grant program for the 2026 program year. To be eligible, organizations not funded in 2025 must submit a pre-application. Pre-applications will open on Monday, March 02, 2026 and must be submitted no later than 4:00 pm, Friday, March 20, 2026. Additionally, all interested agencies will be required to attend a mandatory virtual workshop in order to submit an application. The workshop is a valuable organizational capacity building training initiative provided at no cost to participants. Both pre-applications and applications may be picked up in the Community Development Department from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm Monday -Friday, except holidays. Electronic versions may be obtained by emailing CommunityDevelopment@cityofhinesville.org.
